Under the guidance of professional international artists, from the 5h to 11th of May, we offer the opportunity to take part in concentrated and intensive workshops.
The workshop program is open to artists and all interested individuals, with or without prior knowledge, who would like to expand their
spectrum of expression.

Shiva Nata is one of the modern versions of the ancient Shiva dance forms from which temple dance, martial arts and yoga forms
developed.

The festival title and theme, ESCAPE(ing), provides us with the impetus & provocation to develop an indoor/outdoor performance individually or as a group.

Level:: The workshop program is open to artists and all interested individuals, with or without prior knowledge,Please provide three sentences about your previous experience in the realm of performance and/or why you are interested in working in the field of performance art along with your registration.

Philip Brehse: (NYC, Living Theater) Focuses first and foremost on the vigorous search for the physical expression based on the principles of Biomechanics (Meyerhold) in relation to the given performance situation (body, sound, text, happening) www.performunion.de

Irina Galli: (Italy) Director of the Centro Studi Attori in Milan, Italy. Approaches performance from the perspective of her diverse experience in dance theater, acting, directing and extreme physical expression. www.centrostudioattori.com

Dovrat Meron, Berlin-based Israeli performance artist and curator. Her work focuses more specifically on each participant's individual performance and conceptual desires. Curator of "Memory space" site-specific performance art events at the 53rd Venice Biennale and currently completing the Space strategies program, KHB Berlin.

Following the intensive weekend workshop, we will continue by offering a full week of training & mentoring, towards the creation of a final performance evening as part of the ESCAPE Festival. (The exact scheduling of the lab week will be planned after the intensive weekend workshop according to the needs and interests of the group).

Participants are welcome to respond to the theme by bringing texts, objects or any other material that they wish to involve in the working process. The team of teachers will use all of their means to help the participants find their way!

Lars Crosby: (Berlin) Will accompany parts of the workshop process with a musical "Orpheum" installation, enabling the teachers and performers, when desired, to work in an electrically amplified field; (microphone, echo-room, loop-making, etc.) www.performunion.de
